Why We’re Here
T.M.J. Tutoring is a Melbourne-based, in-person tutoring service supporting students from primary through to VCE and IB. Built by students and trusted by families, we work with those who value consistency, clarity, and care.
We take time to understand each student, then match them with a tutor who explains clearly and adapts to how they learn. Fit matters. Trust is built through steady support, not promises. In-person sessions help students feel supported, grounded, and capable.
Our approach is grounded in a simple idea: learning works best when students feel understood.

With an average age of twenty, this team brings the focus and discipline of professionals with the perspective of students who still remember what learning feels like.

We’ve built a team who share the same standard – that tutoring should serve students, not systems.
They’re current university students who are thoughtful, driven, and care deeply about how students learn. Our role is to give them the space, guidance, and trust to do that well. Every person shares the same commitment: to raise the standard of education and make learning feel personal again.
Today, they run the engine behind TMJ – supporting families, guiding tutors, and keeping everything moving with care and discipline.

T.M.J. was founded by two recent students who saw first-hand how overwhelming school can feel for families.
The Founders
Having both tutored and been students themselves, the founders understood that what many students need most isn’t pressure or perfection, but steady support and someone they trust. That belief shaped T.M.J. into a service built around in-person connection, thoughtful matching, and genuine care. Today, the founders remain closely involved in the day-to-day work of TMJ, ensuring the company stays grounded, human, and true to the values it was built on.
